Failure to Communicate

Dear parents, friends, and family,
We had some problems finding internet when we first arrived, but this morning our brave and fearless leader (Steven) gained access too it!
So to make up for lost time, I will upload a ton of pictures and give you a short update on almost everything that has been happening.

We arrived safely in Montego Bay airport.
Five of us were delayed with a customs problem, something about declaring our sound equipment. Nothing too serious :)
As soon as we walked out the airport doors, we were greeted by our amazing driver 'Wayne Webb'.
We loaded up and headed off right away for the Chateau Margarita, or Villa Margarite, where we will stay for the entire trip.
We were met at the gate by the owners, Mr and Mrs 'Dawkins' and a few of the staff. After being assigned rooms and settling in, we met by the pool for dinner.
The Villa is awesome, I will have some pictures of it posted below.
The food was delicious, different... but delicious.
Fortunately.... that is one of the best parts of the trip, experiencing the culture!
After devotions, we went swimming in the pool and promptly eventually went to sleep :)
The next day we woke up to yet another delicious meal and then began our concert preparation at the Church of the Open Word. After setting up our sound equipment and practicing our concert, we walked around for a little while outside distributing flyers for our concerts.
Around 1 o' clock, Wayne took us took us past a Burger King, a KFC, and
a Pizza Hut to a place called "The Pork Pit." Which ironically only had chicken :)
But... the chicken was delicious.
Then we went back to the Villa for resting and swimming until the concert.

The concert was amazing.
In all of my tours, I have never been a part of a concert like that. We have never been received that warmly before. I can really only share my personal perspective on the concert, but I do know that all of our group, students and chaperones alike were deeply moved.
After cleaning up our equipment we went back to the Villa for some more swimming and devotions.
This morning we were served a "Traditional Jamaican Breakfast" which Mr. 'Dawkins' said we had to try, since we were in Jamaica.
We just went through the 17 Stories presentation and then went off into groups to learn our parts.
We will be using that program for the kids that will be attending the VBS we are having later on this week.
I am now going to upload pictures, and jump in the pool

-Pictures are uploading now... it will take a while.-

Christy Hess says "hiiIiii moooOoom!!!!!"
Hillary Phillips says "blue punch buggy! no punch back" (in stitch voice)
